It's almost like an innate ability of mine to determine that I need to write a journal and then I look at the date go, buh, almost another year since I last wrote one. Crazy, ok well it helps that they are dated so it's not really an ability but it still shocks me every time I do it. Ok so let's see, I've been getting a lot of watches lately, but not updating anything with any art.

Well here are my excuses, and yes, they are excuses, which are inexcusable.

1. I am lazy! I admit it, I hate it, but I am. I get home from work and I want to do nothing else but either play games online or watch DVDs, that's it, nothing more nothing less, depending if it's the weekend then I like to chill with my bud darksunder.

2. I like to spend money, a.k.a. shop, personally I like to go out and buy video games, dvds, anything collectible transformers or sonic that I can find, it has become my current love and hobby.

3. I have no scanner, can't work a tablet, and don't have a decent drawing space, these are my reasons not to draw anymore and to find any excuse to avoid it.

4. No time, drawings take me a long time to work on, and I have no time to devote just to drawing like I use to.

5. I feel like I can't do it anymore or I'm not getting any better. So now that I've listed all my reasons for not updating this page, I hope you aren't holding your breath, those of you who are actually watching me or not, that this means that I'm quitting and will no longer be updating. On the contrary, I'm finding that I'm ever so slowly starting to get the desire to draw again.

So my first step will be to eliminate every reason not to draw and just do it. Starting with cleaning up my desk space so I have a place to draw, the next being to acquire a scanner, and finally during this period of time I will devote myself every week to drawing something new. Primarily I plan to do phase drawings, sort of like a start to finish series. I will start with the pencil sketch, then the inking, and then finally the coloring. Working as a web designer and graphic designer, have more or less allowed my traditional skills to dull and I must get those skills back up. However, I also plan to venture out back into 3d modeling, I've gotten the urge to do this as well, so I think during these phase series that I will complete the drawings with a 3d model of the said character. Time will tell but these are things I want to do, but I can quickly chicken out because it becomes work or a chore.

So here's what to expect from me, more Sonic pics to start, I haven't drawn the blue dude in so long and since he was the first character I ever learned to draw he will be the first one I draw in order to dive back into the foray of my skills. Once I feel I've gotten my sufficient nerve back, I plan to venture into other styles, particularly the Marvel and DC drawing style, primarily I would like to learn to draw Venom, Spiderman, Carnage, Batman and Joker. Ultimately I plan to work my coloring skills both painting/realism and cel shading/animation to the fullest potential because this is where I feel I have the strongest skill sets, I also plan on doing posters, full size 24x36, of G1 Transformers in the current comic book style from IDW.

So this is my challenge to myself and now you all can call me on it when I don't live up to it. Between drawing and work, if I find I'm hitting a road block I may or may not do requests. However any requests will be welcomed, considered, and are always free. This does not grantee a request will be finished, or finished in record time. There's no customer service involved it is strictly something I will take on out of the kindness of my heart and if I have the heart to finish it, it is not a promise or an exchange, and yes I reserve the right to refuse anybody and everybody, all requests sent my way are subject to scrutiny and I will decide if I deem it appropriate or inappropriate, sorry I will not just draw anything.

So please don't let this discourage you from sending your requests, I will not mock you, embarrass you, or make it public knowledge just so people know of your tastes, you will politely be accepted or declined with professionalism. So now having said this I have given myself quite the expectation to live up to for myself but I also hope for all of you. Be sure to check back from time to time to see any progress.
